My Morning Routine: How I Start My Day!

My Morning routine is not just about my work, it is the time when I can relax and spend time doing what I want, doing what I love. It is the time when I can enjoy the morning breeze while sipping a cup of green tea in my balcony and it is the time when I can ensure that I have a productive day by devoting my time to the blog.

My day starts at 5:00 in the morning and I don’t need an alarm to wake me up. Waking up early gives me the much needed ‘me time’ which sets the tone for the entire day. First, I drink around 4 glasses of lukewarm water and complete some household chores. Next, I read the newspaper while listening to some instrumental music. I have made it a point to not check my phone for at least an hour after I wake up which is why I head to the shower by 5:45 am. If you are curious about the products that I use in the morning, then I start my day by applying some coconut oil on my face before the shower. I also pamper myself with a brief 4-5 minute face massage with a regular massage cream once in a while. I follow this routine because my skin is normal to dry and needs hydration. Next, I use a shower gel from either The Body Shop or Forest Essentials and follow it with a body lotion or body butter. I don’t prefer to use a face cleanser and follow the double cleansing method to get rid of impurities from my face. This is followed by a serum and day cream with SPF. Last, I use a refreshing body mist and some lipstick. I have not mentioned any products here because they keep on changing and I often have to try out new products that I can review for you. Also, you must have noticed that it is a very simple skincare routine but it works when followed regularly.

I have my breakfast after the shower which usually consists of a smoothie or overnight oats and some nuts.

Now, I prefer to check the blog, my phone, and social media while going through my to-do list for the day. Some other tasks that I do during this time are:

  1. Researching for my posts.
  2. Brainstorming new ideas.
  3. Planning social media posts.
  4. Clicking photos and editing them.

I get the time to do only a couple of these tasks each day. If I am writing a post, it takes most of my time in the morning before everyone wakes up. Also, I love to sip coconut water at this time. I usually finish these tasks by 8:00 am when hubby and the little one wakes up and I get to spend time with them.

I will also share with you my evening routine in another post and how I wind up my day. How do you start your day? Share your routine in the comments section below!
