Himalaya Herbals Purifying Neem Scrub Review
Product Claims: Specially formulated to give you clear, problem-free skin, this scrub works with a dual exfoliation and purifying action. Neem, well-known for its purifying and antibacterial properties, kills problem-causing bacteria. Combined with exfoliating Apricot granules, it gently scrubs away blackheads, dead skin cells and embedded impurities, leaving your skin, soft, clear, refreshed and problem-free.
Ingredients: Neem, Apricot and Turmeric
How to use: Moisten face and massage all over, avoiding the delicate eye area. Wash off and pat dry. For best results, also use Purifying Neem Face Wash and Purifying Neem Mask.
Price: INR 130 for 100 grams
Packaging: Himalaya Herbals Purifying Neem Scrub Review comes in a tube with a flip open cap. The tube is white and green in color like the other products from the same brand. Its packaging is travel-friendly and the tube is leak proof.
My Experience: Himalaya Herbals Purifying Neem Scrub is popularly used by people with oily and acne-prone skin. Neem has antibacterial properties and this scrub claims to keep the skin problem free. The other two products from this range are Purifying Neem Face Wash and Purifying Neem Pack. While I have not used the Neem pack, some of you may remember that I had reviewed Himalaya Herbals Purifying Neem Face Wash a few weeks back. Although the face wash is meant for all skin types, I did not find it suitable for my dry skin. However, Himalaya Herbals Purifying Neem Scrub is completely different in this regard.
This scrub is white with orange and brown particles. Its texture is creamy and it does not dry out my skin. I love that its particles are gentle, nonabrasive and excellent for exfoliating the skin. My skin feels soft and fresh after its use. Not to mention, it has a herbal fragrance which is pleasant and fresh. Although the instructions on the tube mention to use it 2-3 times weekly, I restrict my use to once a week. Over-exfoliating is a skincare mistake we must avoid, it can make the skin lose its natural moisture and layers of fresh cells. I think that twice a week is the maximum you should use a scrub.
The only downside is that it does not act on stubborn black or whiteheads.
Since it has the goodness of Neem and Turmeric, I think it will be great for you if your skin is prone to breakouts. Combined with the face wash and face pack, this range can be your defense against acne.
What I like about the product:
- Himalaya Herbals Purifying Neem Scrub has a creamy texture and it does not leave my skin dry.
- It has Neem and Turmeric which have antibacterial properties. Apricot is known for its exfoliating action.
- Its particles are gentle and nonabrasive.
- Skin feels cleaner and softer after use.
- It has a pleasant Neem smell.
- It is an affordable product.
- Himalaya Herbals products are easily available online and in retail stores.
- The packaging is leak proof and travel-friendly.
- Tube packaging which is more hygienic than tubs.
What I don’t like about the product:
- Himalaya Herbals Purifying Neem Scrub contains parabens.
Verdict: Himalaya Herbals Purifying Neem Scrub is a product that delivers great results. Apart from the use of parabens, the ingredient list is great. The use of neem and turmeric make it excellent for use on oily skin. Since it is non-drying, it can be used on dry skin too. However, it does not effectively remove stubborn black/whiteheads.
